MLK Weekend, Part 1: Space, the Final Frontier

J and I made good use of MLK weekend by driving up to Nashville. We made a pit stop in Huntsville, Alabama to check out the Space and Rocket Center and spend a night at the Redstone Arsenal. The Space and Rocket Center was pretty cool, since the museum has a space shuttle and a ton of rockets.

Still though, we preferred the museum in Kansas because it focused on the history of the space program, especially the post-war and Werner von Braun years. This one was mostly about showcasing artifacts and providing interactive exhibits for kids, which may be fun for baby down the road. Plus, the scads of Army equipment and exhibit about what "Army soldiers of the future" might look like (read: video game characters) made the place feel like a recruiting commercial.
