Texas Bound

We. Are. Moving.

Where, you might ask? San Antonio, Texas.

Yep. We're off to the land of cowboy boots. The Alamo. Warm weather. Year-round farmers' markets. Tex-Mex.

Why? J was offered a job by a government contractor/consulting firm. The details were finalized last week and the managing directors of my company just gave me permission to work remotely.

You know what this means, kids?

I GET TO WORK FROM HOME. No more commuting or sitting in a windowless office for me, w00t! Yours truly gets to fulfill her lifelong dream of doing legal work in her pajamas. Okay, not really, but I'm beyond excited for the flexibility that comes with working remotely.

We still have a lot of items to figure out--my transition into my departing boss' role while transitioning out of the office, our moving timeline... Also, while J's company is covering our relocation costs, which includes the fees for breaking our lease, J still has his full-time Reserve commitment, which will bring us back to Denver for at least six months. So should we move all of our belongings to San Antonio only to move everything back to Denver at some undetermined point in the future? Or should we just put everything in storage (read: Nebraska)? Trying to work that out.

Still, we're excited to begin a new chapter in our lives after months of ups and downs and struggling to settle into married/suburban life and being strung along by the AF Reserves. Our relocation to San Antonio may be temporary, but we welcome the change of scenery (I've never lived in the South!) and the opportunity to start somewhere new together. Plus, J's new job means we get to make a quick trip to VA/DC next month for his company's orientation. Hank's Oyster Bar is calling my name.

Thanks so much to everyone for your good thoughts and prayers. The adventure continues.
