

The next morning, we got a better look at the Porta Nigra--

and ventured to the center of town, where a farmers market was being set up.

The Cathedral of St. Peter was amazing--


But what's up with people not knowing how to take pictures properly? Clearly, we wanted as much of the cathedral in the background as possible, and we specified as such. What we ended up with was a picture of the pavement and very little of the Cathedral itself (I cropped out most of the foreground). You'd think that the advent of digital cameras with their large LCD screens would make it easier for even the staunchest of Luddites to take a decent photo, but the same thing happened a few months ago when we asked someone to take our picture in front of the Capitol in DC.
